Review: Trace's Temptation (R.A.R.E. Book 3) by Dawn Sullivan

Trace’s Temptation by Dawn Sullivan was given to me as an ARC. Trace’s story picks up where Phoenix’s ended. Trace the sexy panther has met his mate and in order to have a life with her he has to take care of his past. Jade his mate is a wolf who people think is docile and sweet what they don’t know is everything she keeps hidden. She finally starts letting herself be what she needs to be to save her mate and to get the life that she wants. Trace and Jade are super protective of each other and they are HOT when they are together. This book like all the other R.A.R.E books was a great read and hard to put down I just wanted to keep reading. Can’t wait for all the other books of the team, this is a 5 star story.

Excerpt:

Jade watched unemotionally as the blade of Jinx’s sword severed first one head and then the other. These men hurt her mate. They deserved exactly what they got. Wiping the blood off his sword on one of the men’s shirts, Jinx turned and continued into the kitchen area right off the living room, a stunned Flame following. Stopping at the door leading down to The Dungeon, Jinx looked back at the women. “There are three men down there right now, unaware of what is happening up here. They are getting ready to work Trace over again.” Jade palmed her Glock and growled, “I’m ready.” “We got this,” Flame snarled, pulling out a knife from a sheath on her leg. Jinx tried the door, finding it locked from the inside. With one last look at Jade and Flame, he slammed his shoulder into the door smashing it inward off the hinges. Scaling the stairs in two leaps, he took the head of one of the men fighting to get Trace on the table with a quick slice of his sword. Shocked, one of the other men dropped a clamp he had in his hand and ran past Jinx to the stairs. Flame took him out on her way down, with a knife to the heart. The last man standing snarled, “Bring it on you sons of bitches,” as he pulled out a gun to shoot. Jade put three bullets in his heart before he could pull the trigger. The gun slipped from his fingers as he fell lifelessly to the floor.

Excerpt:

Undoing the button on her pants, she slid the zipper down and shimmied out of them. Looking nervously at Trace, she froze when their eyes connected. Blushing, she slipped her fingers into the waist band of her panties and slowly slid them down. Trace groaned as he watched Jade bite down on her bottom lip. His breath quickened and he hardened instantly at the thought of those pretty, pink lips wrapped around his dick. Slowly, Jade reached back and unhooked her bra, removing it and placing it with the rest of her clothes. Trace took in the beautiful sight of his mate, and couldn’t believe fate had gifted him with the vision before him. Long blonde hair, dark green eyes, small, pert breasts that would just fill the palm of his hand. Trace was aware his gaze now held the look of a predator, but he couldn’t control it. Jade took a tentative step back, exciting him further. The panther in him wanted her to run. He loved a good chase. But Trace didn’t want to scare her. “Don’t run,” Trace growled, his eyes narrowing. “It will just excite my cat.” Standing, he shrugged off the blanket that still covered his body. “You are so damn beautiful, Jade. So perfect,” he groaned as he reached out and gently cupped one small, creamy white breast in the palm of his hand. Gasping, Jade shivered and cried out as he ran his thumb over her nipple, before lowering his head and tugging it into his mouth. Jade whimpered as Trace swirled his tongue around the nipple, then tugged on it gently with his teeth. Pulling back, he softly nipped his way up her neck and whispered into her ear, “I want to fuck you, Jade. I want to bury myself so deep inside you that you can’t stop screaming my name. But not here, not like this.”

Gibson's Legacy by KL Shandwick

★★★New Release★★★
Gibson's Legacy Book Cover
Title: Gibson’s Legacy
Author: K.L. Shandwick
Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance
Date of Publication: December 19, 2014
About Gibson’s Legacy
Gibson Barclay has been famous for almost seven years and he's only twenty four.
Seldom does anyone pick up a magazine, newspaper or watch a television entertainment show, without seeing his image or reading about his promiscuous antics. He had no need to court publicity with his magnetic charm and charismatic ways; when he chooses to cooperate that is. Shrugging off the advice of publicists and image consultants, Gibson makes no excuses for who he is, and with no ties, he answers to no one about how he chooses to live his life.
From teenage musician to twenties mega rock star, Gibson has seen and done it all. Women fantasize about him and men envy his rock scene, womanizing lifestyle. Only one person ever made Gibson feel uncomfortable about the way he lived his life. No one ever said no to him that he can remember, although there was two minute events that he has never been able to shake from his mind. Both of those events involved the way Chloe Jenner looked at him. It was something and nothing, but for him, the impact haunted him. In the strangest twist of fate, something so wildly obscure occurred, that set his mind ablaze with the memory of that small encounter.
Like all women, Chloe found Gibson striking and had even shared with friends, her own guilty fantasy about him. Fantasy and reality were poles apart and Chloe believed that Gibson Barclay never even knew that she existed.
*Adult Contemporary Romance – Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not suitable for readers under the age of eighteen.*

Hands invaded my body space and ran up and across my pectorals, my head dropping to see what she was doing. She glided her palms around and under my arms, until they stopped on both scapula bones on my back. Stroking me, she smiled suggestively and continued to trail downwards toward my ass, and by the time I made eye contact with her, she was so close her hot panting breaths were fanning over my face. Groupies had no shame. Then again, I was so fucking wired after the gig, I needed something to bring me down, and an easy fuck meant I didn’t have to be charming or polite to anyone. This girl knew the score and she was begging for it.

Review: A Shot of Sin by Eden Summers

I was given this book as an ARC for an honest review and let me just say I love these characters. This is the first book I have ever read from Eden Summers and I am looking forward to reading more of her work. So first we have Shay Porter who is the bartender for Shot of Sin the club and restaurant that Leo Petrova owns with two friends. With this bar and restaurant there is also a private bar in the club that Shay doesn't have access to. Shay and Leo are very attracted to each other but Leo doesn't think Shay can handle the sex life that he likes so he tries to stay away from her. That all changes when the bartender in the Vault of Sin breaks her arm and they need to replace her, the other owners want Shay to do it but Leo wants to refuse. Finally Leo relents and takes Shay to the VIP bar and Shay is shocked to see it is a sex club she doesn't know how to handle her feelings Leo is afraid he is going to lose the one thing he could love. You have to read this book and see all the trails that a dominant sexy owner and a sassy beautiful bartender go through to get a shot at love.

I was given The Guardian of My Soul by Emily A Lawrence for a review.  I absolutely loved this book it was hard to put down once I started to read it.  Meet Kristen Mancuso a girl turning 21 and ready for her freedom.  Instead of freedom her mom gives her a bodyguard Alec Warner who Kristen hates because she wants her space.  Alec thinks Kristen is a spoiled princess in need of a reality check.  The sparks these two have are incredible where they are fighting and snapping at each other or making out.  They both have a lot of issues with love because of hurt in the past.  They also have the issue of being in two different society brackets and what people might think.  There are a lot of ups and downs and it is a great ride you have to read this book.

She’s been keeping something from him, something he might not be able to forgive. **CONTENT WARNING: This book contains adult situations and language and is not intended for an audience under the age of 18**

Excerpt:

The holidays were over and he was glad, but Justice couldn’t get one particular song out of his head. “All I want for Christmas is...her.” Justice’s deep husky voice changed its tune as he stopped singing to watch a dark- haired beauty cross the street in front of him at the red light. Flakes of snow were floating down around her, making him think of a winter wonderland snow globe. “Now why didn’t Santa leave someone like you under my tree?” Letting his eyes rove from the petite cowboy boots on her feet, up long legs lovingly encased in tight jeans, Justice whistled. Watching her walk was pure pleasure. “Shake it, baby.” He leaned forward to get a better view of her perfect rounded ass as she stepped gingerly over the ice covered ground. “Who are you?” he whispered. “Look this way.” At that moment Justice hated winter because her short thick coat prevented him from seeing the shape of her tits. But what he could see was enough to make him hard. Shifting in his seat, he reached down to adjust his swollen package and... BEEP! “Dammit!” he cursed as his elbow bumped against the car horn. Outside in the frigid air, the snow angel jumped and Justice stared, frozen, unable to prevent her feet from slipping on the slick pavement. Her long, luscious curls flew up in the air behind her, and he saw that cute backside splat itself hard on the unforgiving asphalt. Unmindful of the traffic waiting behind him, he slid the gearshift into Park and opened the door, determined to go to her rescue. “God, I’m sorry. It was an accident. Are you all right?” Justice could hear her grumbling about her luck running out, the cadence of her voice oddly familiar. As he drew nearer, the faint scent of sugar cookies made him smile. She smelled as sweet as she looked. “Let me help you.” Before she could protest, he was on her, hands closing in on a narrow waist. “I got you.” With one smooth move, Justice lifted her from the ground to a standing position. “There!” She bent over, dusting the muddy slush from her legs. The light changed and immediately car horns began to sound. Justice knew he had to move his truck. “Where are you going? If you’ll get in, I’ll take you wherever you say." “No, thank you. I’m okay.” She finally spoke, still keeping her eyes to the ground. “I appreciate you helping me up.” “Hey, move it, King! Some of us have to work for a living!” Justice frowned, waving off-handedly at folks who were pulling around him to continue down the road. There were some benefits to living in a small town, but everyone knowing your business was not one of them. When he looked back around, she was on the move, almost like she was trying to escape. “Wait!” he called, reaching for her arm. “What’s your name?” Justice hadn’t looked her full in the face, but her profile was gorgeous. Big brown eyes framed with thick dark lashes, high cheekbones flushed rosy by the cold and full succulent lips glossed light pink. She stopped, but she still didn’t turn to face him. “Sorry. I’ve got to go.” “I’m Justice King.” He insisted on telling her. “Would you let me buy you a cup of coffee?” Justice didn’t understand why he felt like he couldn’t let her walk away. He was filled with an odd kind of urgency. When she stiffened but didn’t answer, he offered further incentive, because he could see her delicate left hand and it was ring free. “Or how about hot chocolate with marshmallows?” A small sigh of resignation met his ears as dozens of concerned and curious Bronco citizens watched their favorite son try to pick up a woman at the only stop light in town. Instead of answering, she turned to look at him. When he saw her full in the face, Justice stared, stunned, gazing into the eyes of the one person he’d been longing to see for what seemed like forever. Time seemed to swirl around them with the blowing snow, like a vortex sweeping him back in time. Despite his initial confusion, he had to admit her face was the same, except she was all grown up and gorgeous. The only thing totally different was the expression in her eyes. Instead of seeing trust and welcome, he saw hesitancy and insecurity. “My God! Charlee! I’d heard you were back in town. You look...” He was going to say amazing, but she didn’t give him a chance. When he moved to embrace her, she pulled out of his grasp, walking away so fast he was afraid she’d fall again. Justice stood, immobile, his heart pounding and his mind racing. Every instinct told him to go after her, but he couldn’t. Horns were sounding and people were shouting. Traffic was backed up and if he didn’t move soon, the local law would be giving him a ticket. Blowing out a harsh breath, he returned to his truck, climbed in and shifted gears. Slowly he began to move, scanning the street ahead of him, trying to see where Charlee had gone. She was nowhere in sight. Vanished...just like she had so long ago.

Shatter Me by Alex Grayson

 Synopsis

I'm running, as fast and as far as I can. My past is trying to shatter me, but I am determined not to let it. I've come this far, I won't let it break me now.

I had to stop in a small town to get enough money to run again, but I found myself wanting to stay. The reason? Jaxon Walker. He doesn't make me so afraid. He comforts me. But how much comfort will it take before my walls shatter? And what happens when my past finds me? Will it finally destroy me or could Jax possibly save me?

My name is Bailey Winsor and this is my story.

Excerpt 1

“Oh Jaxon.” I moan and dig my nails into his back.
“Fuck, Angel,” He hisses. “I can feel it. You’re already so wet for me.
This spurs him on and he pushes me to my back and settles himself between my thighs. He’s sitting back on his legs. With my legs on either side of him resting on his, I’m somewhat open and exposed to him, even though I’m still wearing my clothes.
Jaxon watches me with steel blues eyes as he runs his hands slowly up my calves and thighs. When he reaches my stomach, his fingers dip underneath my tank top. He moves them to my sides. With slow movements, his hands continue their upward motion, bringing my shirt along with him.
I halt his movements by placing my hands on his.
“Angel, we don’t…” He starts but I stop him before he can finish.
I shake my head and say, “No, it’s not that. I don’t want you to stop. I just…” I stop because I don’t know what to say. How do you tell a man that your body is riddled with ugly marks?
Taking a deep breath I haltingly try to explain. “Steven…h-he liked to…mark me. I’ve got…scars. A lot of them. They aren’t pretty. I want to warn you before you see them for yourself.”
As I talk I see pure rage enter Jaxon’s face. After closing his eyes and breathing deeply a few times he opens them again and the rage is gone, replaced with a soft understanding look.
“Baby, no matter how many scars you have you could never look anything but beautiful to me.”
His words touch a place inside me that allows some of my insecurities to let go. His words are pure and I believe them.
I move my hands from his and place them on his thighs. He doesn’t take his eyes off mine as he starts moving his hands again to pull my shirt up. It’s slow and torturous. I want him to hurry, but then I’m dreading when he sees them. When his fingers skim over the side of my breast, my breathing starts to pick up. The warmth his hands leave behind makes me throb for more. My shirt is now over my breast, but his eyes still remain on mine.
“Arms up, baby and lift for me.” He says quietly.
Lifting my upper body off the bed, I sit up and bring my arms above my head. Jaxon finishes removing my shirt. His chest is right in front of my face. I bring my hands back down to his sides and lean forward to kiss his chest, but Jaxon pulls back and grabs both sides of my face to bring it up to his.
“Not yet. Lay back, I want to look at you.”
