Fakers by Meg Collett

I was given Fakers by Meg Collett for an honest review.  This book starts off very slow but I was glad I stuck with it.  The book gives you a lot of insight into Kyra Aberdeen’s life and thinking as someone who has to deal with depression every day.  She bought her old family home on Canaan Island so she could feel closer to her deceased mother that she has never met.  Kyra doesn’t like confrontation and would rather put a smile on her face then let people know about the darkness that pushes at her.   Her new home needs to be remodeled and she meets Hale Cooper her contractor who is as straight forward as they come.  She is drawn to him and he pushes her in ways that she has never known or felt about before and she isn’t sure how to handle it or him. She also meets her new best friend Stevie who lives next door and Stevie pushes Kyra to think in ways that she hasn’t before.

I would give this book 3.5 out of 5 just because it’s hard to get past the beginning and a little confusing at first.
