Mack Daddy by Penelope Ward Excerpt Reveal

  mack daddy release date

                                                  pwmackdaddybookcover5x8_bw_high-fixed

From New York Times bestselling author, Penelope Ward, comes a sexy, STANDALONE second-chance romance.

They called him Mack Daddy. No, seriously, his name was Mack. Short for Mackenzie. Thus, the nickname. Perfect, right?

So was he: perfect. The perfect physical male specimen.

At the private school where I taught, Mack Morrison was the only man around in a sea of women.

Everyone wanted a piece of the hot single father of the sweet little boy.

I was riddled with jealousy, because they didn’t know that—to me—he was much more.

They didn’t know about our past.

He’d chosen my school for his son on purpose, because Mack and I, we had unfinished business.

As my friend Lorelai so eloquently put it: “Unfinished business between two people who are clearly attracted to each other is like an eternal case of blue balls.” And I was suffering in pain from my case.

I was still intensely attracted to Mack. I tried to resist him, immersing myself further into a relationship with another man just to protect my heart.

Not to mention, getting involved with a parent was strictly against school rules. But seeing Mack day in and day out was breaking me down.

And soon I might be breaking all the rules.

Author's note – Told in alternating points of view, Mack Daddy is a full-length standalone novel.

MACK DADDY EXCERPT

It was the evening of our monthly PTO meeting. On the agenda was to designate the volunteers for several fundraisers that would take place in the spring. Setting up the refreshments and a coffee urn in the hallway outside of the classroom, I couldn’t wait to get this over with so that I could go home, get into my pajamas, and relax. It was always exhausting to have evening commitments when the workday ran so late to begin with. A deep voice from behind startled me. “A keg would be much more fun, wouldn’t it?” I turned around to find Mack standing there, holding a box of chocolate chip cookies from the supermarket. “What are you doing here?” He placed the cookies on the table. “This is the parent and teachers meeting, isn’t it?” “Yes, but…” I hesitated, not even knowing what to say. He finished my sentence. “But I’m not supposed to be included in that group?” Mack snapped his finger. “Oh, I’m sorry. I thought PTO stood for ‘pissing teacher off.’ My bad.” “Well, if that were the case, you might be in the right place.” “This is the right place for me tonight.” “This meeting is for serious participants.” “I’m serious about the teacher. Does that count?” “No.” “Actually, in all seriousness, I’d also like to help. It’s the least I can do after crashing your school year. I really would like to be as involved as I can in Jonah’s education. That’s the truth, okay? Getting to spend time with you is an added benefit.” What could I say? He had just as much right to be here as anyone else. “Just be aware that this isn’t the right place to be joking around or distracting the other attendees, for that matter.” “I don’t plan on distracting anyone but you.” “Yeah, well you have quite the fan base here. We have a very strict agenda to adhere to.” He moved in closer and just stared me down for a bit. The contact caused my skin to prickle and my nipples to harden. “Don’t worry,” he said as he looked down, seeming to notice that my nipples were piercing through the fabric of my shirt. “Your points are well noted, Miss O’Hara.” He wriggled his brows. “I’ll see you inside.” I hated that he knew he was having an effect on me. If my body had this kind of response now, what would have happened if he’d actually done more? Spontaneous impregnation? Some things just never change, and my reaction to this man was an example of that. A long table sat in the middle of the spare classroom where we held the meeting. There wasn’t a single man in the room besides Mack. He was like the centerpiece. I took my seat at the end of the table. “So, shall we get started?” Looking down at my list, I said, “First on the agenda is the book fair. We need to elect someone to be in charge of it and coordinate the volunteers.” Mack raised his hand. “Yes?” I asked. “That sounds like it’s right down my alley. I’d like to volunteer to run the book fair.” “What makes you want that task? It’s a lot of responsibility.” He thought about it for a moment then said, “I write children’s books. I think I’d be a perfect fit.” “That’s a good point,” one of the women said. “He might be the perfect fit.” I’m sure you’re thinking he’d be the perfect fit, alright…in your vagina. “Okay…but I hope you know that there is a tremendous amount of work that goes into organizing that particular event. It takes place over the course of an entire weekend. You have to place orders with the bookseller, do inventory, delegate tasks, and arrange for an onsite food vendor because many people just come for the food. Ultimately, the food is the bait.” “I can bait people. I’m a master baiter.” He paused. “I mean…I can handle it. I’ll get a shitload of people to sign up.” An attending nun gave him a dirty look for his use of foul language. He cleared his throat, seeming to regret his choice of terminology. “I’ll get people to attend. Don’t worry.” “I’ll put your name down as a possibility. We’ll take a vote at the end.” “Thank you.” Looking around the room, I asked, “Is there anyone else here who is interested in taking the reigns on the book fair?” Not a single person budged. One woman said, “No, but I’ll be happy to help Mack with whatever he needs.” I’m sure you will. Mack nodded then offered a smug smile. “Thank you.” He then took a bite of his cookie and winked at me.       Jeans Teaser

The Do-Over by Julie A. Richman Blog Tour

sbpr-thedoover-bt

The Do-Over, an all-new emotional, second chance STANDALONE romance by Julie A. Richman is now LIVE!!

~ Sometimes, one degree is all that separates you from the one you were meant to be with. ~
Wes Bergman was sex on a stick.
We’d been circling one another our entire lives, mingling at the same clubs... attending the same events…sharing mutual acquaintances…yet we’d never actually met.
Until . . . we both boarded a Windjammer Cruise in the Caribbean. And it was like meeting my long, lost best friend for the first time. I hadn’t ever connected with a guy that way before.
But Wes had a girlfriend. So, when the week was over, he walked off the ship, unknowingly taking a piece of my heart with him.
Now, over a decade later, newly divorced, I’m the proverbial fish out of water. Dating has totally changed. Apps. Swipe left. Swipe right. Catfishing. Men my age want two things: twenty-five-year-olds—like my ex’s new child bride of a wife—or just a quick hook-up.
After a string of bad dates, I finally did something I never thought I’d do. I had a hot one-night stand with a really handsome guy I met online who didn’t even know my real name.
Turned out Mr. Fling is a big shot for my company’s newest client. And just my
luck, that client’s CEO is none other than . . . Wes Bergman.
Now I’m separated by one degree again from the man who stole my heart.
And Mr. Fling could destroy my chance of what I want most –
A Do-Over with Wes.

Excerpt:

His hand slowly stroking up and down the outside of my thigh is what roused me from my dream state. It was so soft and tender that I was getting more and more turned on with every movement. With my eyes still closed, I enjoyed the sensation. It wasn’t until his lips started brushing my shoulder, that I was unable to stifle a moan, revealing that I was awake. “Good morning,” his whisper was hoarse. “Mmm, good morning.” I stretched my body against his and turned my head to see his face hovering over mine, before our lips met. “Sleep good?” “Surprisingly, I did. I was so exhausted. Sorry for passing out on you last night,” I apologized. “I think we both passed out the moment our heads hit the pillows.” Wes’ hand had migrated from my thigh to my stomach, where he softly drew circles with his fingertips. Rolling over to face him, I pushed my hair out of the way, silently praying my humidity enhanced curls didn’t make me look like a deranged housewife, scaring the erection right out of the man. Slinging a leg over his thigh, I instantly got my answer. The crazy morning coif was not a cock killer. Thank God! “You’re a morning person, I see.” Hiding my smile was not a possibility. “Yeah, I am,” Wes laughed, moving closer to me, his eyes filled with the unmistakable desire to become lovers, something I’d dreamed about on the deck of a windjammer long ago. “You can wake me up like this anytime.” I needed to let him know it was okay. He’d said he’d take it as slow as I wanted it and what I wanted right now was a slow rhythm of him plowing into me. Hard. “Are you hard to wake up?” He was pressed up against me. “I think you’ll figure out the secrets to rousing me.” “You’ve already figured out the secrets to arousing me.” His voice still had that sexy edge of morning roughness to it, making me want to skip all foreplay and have him inside me. “I’ll bet you have a few more secrets I can discover,” I said against his lips, as I shifted the leg I had slung over him, pressing my heat and wetness against his already throbbing cock. Wes groaned and I could feel his smile against my lips. “You know you’re going to make it impossible to make slow, sweet love to you.” “Good, because I don’t want it slow and sweet.” Wes flipped me onto my back, “I can easily accommodate your wishes. Are you on anything or do I need to…” “We’re good,” I assured him. “Yes, we are.” He kissed my neck, then swiftly pulled my tank top over my head tossing it to the floor. “We’re going to be really good together. Of that, I have no doubt.” And I knew he was right. Being with this man had been so perfect from the night we met. We meshed with ease and the result was pure joy. The warmth in his eyes and smile made my breath catch, and in that moment, I was flooded with overwhelming emotion at how much I wanted him. How much I’d always wanted him. It was more than lust, beyond the heat of the moment. Wes Bergman was the man I had always wanted, from the night we met. That was clear to me now. “I vote we skip the foreplay.” I wriggled out of my underwear. “You’re on.” His smile told me he was taking on the challenge. “You’re in,” I gasped, my breath catching in my throat, surprised at the swiftness with which he filled my request. an-thedo-over

About the Author
KD
KD Robichaux wanted to be a romance author since the first time she picked up her mom’s Sandra Brown books at the ripe old age of twelve. She went to college to become a writer, but then married and had babies. Putting her dream job on hold to raise her family as a stay at home mom, who read entirely too much, she created a blog where she could keep her family and friends up-to-date on all the hottest reads. From there, by word of mouth, her blog took off and she began using her hard-earned degree as a Senior Editor for Hot Tree Editing. When her kids started school, and with the encouragement from her many author friends, she finally sat down and started working on her first series, The Blogger Diaries, her very own real life romance.

An all new second chance love story by the New York Times Bestselling author of the Driven series.

Sweet Cheeks by K. Bromberg is NOW LIVE!

Sweet Cheeks.jpg

It all started with the invitation. To my ex-fiance’s new wedding.
I should have ignored it.Thrown it away. Set it afire. But I didn’t. I replied.
With a plus one.
And then my assistant accidentally mailed it.
Enter Hayes Whitley. Mega-movie star. The man who has captured the hearts of millions. But I gave him mine years ago. He was my first love. He was my everything. Right until he up and left to chase his dreams without so much as a simple goodbye.
When he showed up out of the blue ten years later, I should have known to steer clear. I should have rejected his offer to take me to my ex’s wedding. I should have never let him kiss me.
But I didn’t.
And now we’re left wondering if the pieces of the life we once shared still fit together somehow. First loves are hard to forget. The question is, do we want to forget? Or do we risk the chance and see what happens next?

5 Now I know.jpeg
Excerpt
I hear my name. I think I do anyway, and it distracts me enough momentarily that Hayes is able to grab and pull me tighter into him, the cupcake now inches from my face.
We stare at each other in a silent standoff, hearts racing and eyes daring. His gaze flickers over my shoulder and then back to mine as I prepare myself for the smash.
But it doesn’t come.
Instead he eases up and only dabs the frosting against the tip of my nose.
I sigh in relief.
Then gasp out in shock.
Because Hayes’s lips are on mine.
And not just a friendly peck. Not hardly. The hand that held the cupcake is now empty. Chocolate fallen by the wayside for a kiss. His fingers, sticky with frosting, are on my cheeks directing my face. But there’s no thought of the frosting he’ll get on my face or how funny it’s going to look when we walk back to our villa because all I can think about is Hayes.
I could tell myself I part my lips—grant him access—because I’m winded and need to breathe, but that would be a lie. Because the minute his tongue dances against mine, all I want to do is drown in his kiss. In the familiarity of it. In the difference of it. The unexpectedness of it. The comfort of it. In everything about him.
Hayes Whitley is kissing me. Again.
Finally.
His fingers are possessive—on the underside of my jaw and the small of my back—and the soft groan he emits communicates everything his lips are expressing and more.
His taste consumes me. The chocolate on his tongue. The spark of desire. The lick of lust. The sense of calm riled up by an overload of emotion.
My hands slide up the plane of his back over skin heated by the sun and slick with frosting. His muscles bunch beneath my palms as he shifts the angle of the kiss.
His tongue tantalizes and torments. Begs me to want more with its tender caresses and then switches gear and demands me to keep pace. To allow him to possess and claim.
I feel in droves. Want. Need. Lust. More. Too much. Not enough. Don’t ever stop. What am I doing?
It’s just me.
And Hayes.
And the singular sensation of rightness he is making me feel. A sensation I don’t think I had ever realized was missing since he’d left, but now know I’ll never be able to live without.

Matt quickly loses the battle to protect his heart, and Lauren is overwhelmed by sweet memories and longings she has tried so desperately to forget. Love’s True Home is Book 1 in the Looking Glass Lake series of contemporary Christian romance. Saddle up and enter cowboy country to start this sweet love story today!

Excerpt One...

“Don't look so worried,” Matt said. “I've heard the mayor of this place is really quite reasonable.” He leaned forward, a teasing glint in his eye. “I've also heard he has quite the crush on you, so he might entertain a low offer. As long as it's within reason, of course.” Lauren couldn't look at him. Today, she didn't have it in her to flirt. And her foggy brain refused to give her the right words to tell him how bad it really was. But she had to try one more time. “The structural damage is a lot worse than I thought, too,” she said. “Which means the entire project might take a lot longer than anticipated.” Matt laughed, and she looked up at him in surprise. “That's the best news I've heard all day,” he said. “It means you'll be in town longer.” He leaned down and kissed her, his lips lingering on hers. Lauren gave up then, and reached her hands up around his neck, kissing him back. Kisses like that made her realize how badly she wanted to stay here. Kisses like that almost made her forget about the numbers and the balance sheets and the return on investment. Kisses like that pushed back the pain of so many losses and brought a whisper of hope. They made her vision blur and her heart beat faster, and then instead of seeing the world through numbers, she saw it through his eyes. Through his eyes, this was a priceless historical building, with so much sentimental value to the town and the state. And to Matt. Maybe even to her, just because it mattered to Matt and Looking Glass Lake so much. Which meant that those kisses must really be messing with her heart. And maybe her head. Because between head and heart, she wasn't sure anymore which direction she was headed.loves-true-home-christian-romance

Excerpt Two...

“What I have a problem with,” Lauren spat, “is you taking advantage of your star power to control a whole town. They can't even think for themselves. They're too busy falling all over you.” Thwap. Matt sunk a nail into the wood with his nail gun before he turned and looked at her. “Maybe that's why you left town nine years ago.” “This isn't about me leaving. And anyway, that makes no sense.” He came down the ladder and laid his nail gun on the granite counter top. He stepped entirely too close to her. Golden flecks in his navy eyes sent a zing up her spine, and the fresh cedar of his aftershave throttled her heart rate. She took a shaky breath. “Let me clarify, then,” he said, his voice low. “Maybe you left because you were afraid you were falling for me.” She laughed. “Falling for you?” Whew. Just when she thought those memories would sweep her back up in their arms, he said something like that. Something that slapped her upside the head with reality. “Matthew Paycoach, you made certain a long time ago that I would never fall for you again, not in a million years.” His teeth gleamed in a wicked smile. “I can still get you riled up.” She smoothed her skirt and sniffed. “Stupidity gets me riled up.” He laughed. “You sure look pretty when you're mad,” he said. He reached out and touched her chin, turning her face up gently. “And that lipstick color is very....” His lips curled into an amused smile. “Very noticeable.” She scowled, and her hands flew to burning cheeks. She'd forgotten about the makeup. She was serious, and he treated her like a joke. The whole town had treated her like a joke. All along, she'd been the fool. Well, that was about to change. “I didn't come here to talk about the past.” She jerked her face away and swung her briefcase onto the counter. “Then you'd better change your plans.” Matt planted his feet wide apart and rested his thumbs on his tool belt. “Or what? You'll pull your nail gun, and we'll have a shootout at the OK Corral?” She snapped her briefcase open and pulled out a file. She tapped the corner of the file against his chest. “Look, Matt. This isn't personal. It's business. Enough with the practical jokes. Why can't you put resentments aside and get down to business? Looking Glass Lake needs me, whether you admit it or not. And the Glass Slipper Resort is the only thing that will save this town. And the only thing that will save the Glass Slipper Resort is my boss and his plans to renovate.” She spread the specs out on the counter, but he didn’t even glance at them. He folded his arms, and they engaged in a stare down. She knew the good, the bad, and the ugly about this man. Even a lonely Native flute call and a tumbleweed blowing through on a dry wind wouldn’t shake her focus. He was going down. She tapped her fingers against the counter top. Make your move, cowboy.

Blurb

A long time ago...

I was young and naive. I thought I could save the world. I thought that protecting those around me from hurt and pain was what I was born to do. She made me feel that way. Ava Links, the little girl who was too fucking stubborn for her own good. The little girl who absorbed the hurt and pain of everyone around her and tried to bring sunshine to them all. The little girl who didn’t give a damn if people picked on her about wearing a crown and tutu every day. A little girl who somehow looked at me, expecting—no, damn near demanding—I protect her.

I saw the pain she hid, and as I grew older, I understood that pain. The pain of being so much to so many that there is really never a “you”.

I took control of my life...

I had to get away from everyone who pulled at me in order to claim myself. When I became the man I was destined to be, I began to live. Then, one drunken night, Ava Links, no longer a little girl, said the right damn thing to me, and everything changed. After seven years of fucking her while home on leave with no expectations, now my life is out of control…

One bad dream, one I love you, one night of pushing her the hell out of my life, one drummer stealing her heart, and one explosion took everything away.

Lies are told.
Lies are unraveling.
Lies are going to destroy.
These are my truths.

Excerpt

Outside, Sandman screams and chants as we hurry him down the pre-planned route. Trigger is on the phone, giving coordinates to the guys in the sky for evacuation as he and Killshot go back inside the building we were occupying to grab our equipment.
Again, Sandman puts up a fight, and I am forced to the ground with him.
A whistling buzz pierces my ears, followed by an earth shaking explosion.
The building has been hit!
The ringing in my ears is horrific. The pain I feel as brick and metal hit me is allowed for five, four, three, two, one, and now I dismiss it.
Sandman easily pushes away from the grip I have on him because, lucky for him, he was covered by my body. When I grab him, I quickly realize my shoulder is dislocated, but fuck if I let him go. Not when we spent years looking for him.
I hear Trigger yelling but, with the ringing in my ears, I have no idea what the hell he’s saying.
I look back at Sandman, who has a sick smile on his face. I push him to the ground and look back for my team.
Trigger is a mess. Blood is everywhere as he pushes parts of the building off of him. But I don’t see Killshot. I am caught in a moment of needing to help my men, yet not wanting to release my captive.
I look back at Sandman who knows the conundrum I am faced: His live capture or helping my men. What he doesn’t know is who I am.
Another whistle and another explosion rocks us.
I pull out my piece and look at the sick fuck.

She self-published her first contemporary, new adult romance in January 2013. Today she has completed seven self-published series, The Love series, The Wrapped series, The Burning Souls series, The Men of Steel series, Ties of Steel series, The Rockers of Steel series and The Norfolk series.
MJ is a hybrid author and publishes an Indie book almost every month, and is signed with a traditional publisher, Loveswept, Penguin Random House, for her co- written series The Caldwell Brothers. Hendrix, Morrison, and Jagger. All three books in the series are published. The Caldwell brothers don’t grow into alphas, when their mother passes away they become her legacy, her good in the world of bad.
MJ was a former small business owner, who closed shop so she could write full time. She lives in central New York, surrounded by family and friends. Her house is full of pets, friends, and noise ninety percent of the time, and she would have it no other way.
