StrappingAshBOOK SYNOPSIS

For gentle Oak, his husband Ash is “the man he loved but wasn’t sure he always liked.”
The reappearance of Ash MacBryde’s old lover has sent Oak flying back to Vermont and into the employ of a man determined to win a chance to race at World’s in Dubai.
To Oak’s delight and dismay, the man who brought him out of the bolted closet is there too, working for the same man with the same end. They will be partners on horseback ... and if Ben Kincaid has his way, in other ways as well.
Someone holds a grudge against Oak’s new employer; and as the race approaches, the dirty tricks escalate until no one is safe.
Oak and Ben are in danger, and when Ash shows up to bring his man back home, there’s more at stake than just a shot at a million-dollar purse.

EXCERPT

After Ash MacBryde’s seeming betrayal, Oak Richards bolts for home, looking for a safe haven to work away the hurt. The last thing he plans on is MacBryde showing up like a bad penny. Their first meeting after weeks apart is… awkward.
Opening the stall door, Ash pointed to the leather pad and asked, “What were you doing?” Oak squeezed past, trying not to touch any part of the man. He took his time arranging the grooming tools, putting off having to face Ash MacBryde, his throat nearly closing with anxiety and terror. All his plans, everything he wanted to say flew out the barn door, leaving him as tongue-tied and unsure as ever.
Finally finding the courage to stand and face the man he once thought of as his life partner, he nearly panicked as Ash closed the distance between them.
Stepping back, he held out a hand to warn Ash off. Embarrassed at his own cowardice, he tried to deflect his confusion by explaining, “That’s called strapping.” He waved in the general direction of the piece of leather in the bucket, then quickly crossed his arms over his chest to stop himself from touching Ash.
Ash looked from him to the horse. “Strapping.”
“Yeah. The impact, when you smack it down like that? It feels good.” He felt the heat rush up his neck to the tips of his ears. Jesus, I didn’t just say that.
Ash shuffled his feet and ducked his head as he fumbled in a pocket.
Oak asked, “What’s this?” as the tall man handed him a postcard and a metal object. Brushing his hands through his hair, Ash mumbled, “That’s where I’m staying.”
Oak stared at the key and said, “Oh.”
“I was, uh, I was wondering…” Ash paused and swallowed hard, the motion making his prominent Adam’s apple vibrate with the effort. “I thought maybe we could have dinner…”
“Yeah, sure. Tonight?”
“Yeah.”
“Um, what time?”
“Eight okay?”
“Sure.”
Neither made eye contact as Ash turned to leave. His breath wispy, Oak barely managed to say, “It’s nice to—”
“What?”
“Uh, nothing. See you at eight.”
Oak watched the man turn right and head down the driveway, his heart pounding treble time. He fingered the key, a slow smile spreading across his face.

Pulling Leather - Book CoverBOOK SYNOPSIS

Former rodeo champion Jess Carpenter’s been rode hard and put up lonely. Lucas Santiago has anger management issues and a passion for the livestock in his care. When they meet, the fanboy crush on the older bronc rider turns into a fierce attraction, for both men.
But Jess’ visit to Crow Creek Ranch brings a complication—a history with owner Ash MacBryde that ignites an emotional firestorm. It threatens not only Jess’ budding feelings for the young wrangler Luc, but it also drives a wedge between Ash and his married partner Oak.
While Ash and Jess struggle to understand and control their still smoldering feelings for each other, the two young men who would love them unite in desperation, making the kinds of bad choices that lead to jealous rage and soul-searing hurt.
To save Oak, Luc will do whatever it takes, including jail time. To save themselves, Jess and Ash must finally confront what they’ve hidden for years.
Four men vie to hold onto the things they hold dear. Riding for the time. Riding for the glory. And it takes only one misstep to disqualify any one of them from the competition … and from love.

EXCERPT

Ash MacBryde and Jess Carpenter share more than just a history. When Jess decides to visit Crow Creek ranch, it’s hard not to bring baggage along for the ride…
Ranches ran on the skills of their cooks and general staff. From what Ash had told Jess about Carmen, he was ready to worship on the altar of her carnitas, still simmering in a crock pot. If he hadn’t already been invited to stay the weekend and sample the pleasures of Crow Creek Ranch, he’d have gotten down on his arthritic knees and begged. As it was, his belly growled, despite just having finished a generous breakfast.
With a wink at Carmen, he turned to Ash and asked, “How the hell do you stay so skinny, bud?” Lifting the lid off the crock pot, he sniffed appreciatively and groaned his pleasure. Ash’s housekeeper ducked her head and bent over the sink to studiously scrub at an already spotless pot, the back of her neck reddening.
Ash grumbled, “Don’t even think about it, Sarge.”
“What?”
“You know what. Poaching.” Carmen giggled.
“I’m sure I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
He smiled, but it came hard, hearing Ash call him “Sarge.” Those days were long gone, and so were too many of the men and women who’d served under him.
Ash said, “Wait here a minute,” and disappeared up a long hallway. When the tall man returned he had two tumblers and the bottle of Carreta de Oro Jess had brought with him. Glancing at the clock, Jess raised an eyebrow but followed his friend out the door to a small cabin shaded by pines. Ash dragged a folding table between two rockers and cracked the cap on the black bottle, pouring out a generous amount in each tumbler.
After handing Jess the glass, he sat down and sipped appreciatively. Nodding to his guest, he said, “You always did have excellent taste.”
“Figured you wouldn’t have access to the good stuff this far out in the boonies.”
Ash swirled amber liquid around the tumbler and chuckled. “What’s that saying?”
Jess laughed and sang out, “It’s only good if you don't remember it, one tequila, two tequila, three tequila … floor.”
“I remember hitting a shitload of floors back in the day.”
Jess grimaced, “We did what we had to do, you and me.” He looked over at his friend, knowing what he said wouldn’t insult or rankle him. “If it’s all the same, that’s water under the sand bridge.”

EXCERPT

When Oak Richards accepts Ash MacBryde’s offer of employment to train horses at Crow Creek ranch after months of negotiations and skyping, burning up the airwaves late into the night, they finally meet face-to-face at the Denver airport:
“You were waiting for,” Ash blinked and ticked off the time, “what, almost four hours?” “I didn’t want to make you wait if the flight was delayed.”
Of course you didn’t.
And he would have been stuck in the baggage area with no place to sit, nothing to eat or drink. Waiting, because he didn’t want his new employer to be inconvenienced.
Not that he was trying to up the ante, but Ash explained, “The roads are bad,” and waved a hand around the room. “I figured it might be better not to drive home tonight. It’s seven hours or so. Longer if the weather’s bad.”
Oak finally looked him in the eye and sputtered, “S-seven hours?”
It was Ash’s turn to shrug. He wasn’t sure who was going to win in the non-verbal communication category. So far it seemed pretty much a draw.
Glancing at his watch, he asked, “You hungry?”
Ash marveled as gratitude blossomed in bottomless blue eyes, followed by hesitancy and a fierce reluctance to appear at all dependent. He understood that all too well. He’d been there for many long months after his father kicked him out, relying on handouts to survive, doing whatever it took. It was one reason he’d ended up in the military. Uncle Sam and the Corps had given him the one gift he’d thought he lost forever that Christmas Eve so many years ago: his self-respect.
Although he was more comfortable judging horses than people, Oak was like an open book to him. And that was yet another reason to go slow. They were too much alike, skittish with anything new. Oakley Richards was going to require time and gentling.
He hoped to hell he was a good enough man for the job.

EXCERPT

Two cops, one a loose cannon by anyone’s definition, the other a straight arrow…
After dancing around their attraction, Jace McClune and Nick Nowak give in to lust, leaving Jace riding an emotional rollercoaster. When a torturous training session with a dom reveals far more about where Nick stands and what lengths he’ll go to in order to protect his partner, Jace probes Nick for answers.
“Can I ask you something?” I was taking a chance, pushing him, but he wasn’t the only one wanting to know. “Do you care about me?”
“What kind of question is that?” He stared out the windshield, suddenly very engrossed in the flow of pedestrians darting in and around the idling vehicles.
“It’s not a trick question.” Oh, but it was, and way more than idle curiosity drove me to push for it.
Carelessly, he flipped his fingers on the steering wheel, doing his best to answer without answering. Finally he sputtered, “Well, uh…”
“So, you do care.” I kept my voice even, not putting any emphasis that might indicate I was being derogatory or snarky or worse … teasing.
“Sure. Yeah.” It was neither a sure, nor was it a definite yes. It was more an oh fuck, this can’t be happening.
Even though he turned away to hide his expression, with his dark olive complexion, the blush was easy to detect on his neck and ears. He was lying like a dog. Or more to the point, he was telling a half-truth, one that had me scouring the Jeep for a paper bag to keep me from hyperventilating. I was having a teenage girl, fucking hormone attack—a spasm of giddy, throw flower petals in the air he loves me, he really loves me moment.
It was a good thing he’d handed my service revolver back, because now I could shoot myself and be done with it.
McClune and Lopez may not understand what’s happening between them, but one thing they know for sure: they are partners, and partners have each other’s backs.

EXCERPT

Sequestered at a beach house in the Hamptons, charged with keeping Lovett Junior occupied while his law firm does damage control over Junior’s peccadillos, Mike and Sean find it difficult to grab some private time.
Oblivious to everything but the craving for his taste, I surrendered as he took my mouth, tracing it with his tongue, probing. My hand hung helpless, useless, in a vise grip that numbed sensation and replaced it with such intense focus on my cock and my mouth, there was nothing left but him sweeping inside, crushing and bruising as he invaded my senses.
The first sharp nip released an intense flood of copper-iron. Sean swished it away, then assaulted the bruise with another and another until he withdrew, leaving me passive, struggling for air.
I murmured, “Sean?”
He stood. I couldn’t. Not yet.
Whispering, “We have company,” Sean nodded in the direction of the dunes behind us.
Holding out a hand, he helped me up. We locked gazes, his almost a challenge. Then with a rueful grin, he said, “I have sand in my shorts.”
I looked down, leering. “Looks like a sand dune to me. You might want to do something about that.”
“What do you have in mind?”
“A contest.”
I was going to make him pay in spades for turning me into a quivering blob of jelly, right there in the open, lancing my heart with that fucking display of dominance. Reaching over to hook a forefinger in the waistband of his bathing suit, I tugged him closer and laid out the terms, keeping them clean and simple.
“First one back gets to top.”
He growled, “Bite me,” and took off like a shot, with me a few steps behind.

EXCERPT

After an embarrassing incident at a party, Jake agrees to leave with Cole… sort of.
Jake gingerly minced his way to the mass of coats on the bed, pawed through the pile and extracted his tattered outerwear from the tower of similar Goodwill vintage cast-offs. The man who might be a serial killer helped him into the coat, smoothed the shoulders and settled the scarf around his neck. He made a double loop around Jake’s throat, then tucked it into the front of the coat and fingered the top button, all the while keeping his head down.
That was fine by Jake. The last thing he needed was to make eye contact and expose his soul to a stranger who had already opened him up to other possibilities, despite it not turning out exactly the way he might have hoped had he lived on another planet…
Planet normal.
Planet gay guy scores.
Planet having somebody special for the holidays…
Hell, let me have that planet’s moon while I’m at it so I can wake up next to that special someone instead of me alone, clutching a pillow instead of a warm body.
Annoyed at the broken record that was his lot in life, Jake mumbled, “I’ve got it,” and did the unthinkable. He looked up, high enough to drink in the sight of thick lashes framing eyes the color of sin, a nose that had seen some action, rough skin bearing scars from the teenage scourge of acne, and a five o’clock dark growth Jake couldn’t manage even after a solid week of not shaving.
His gaydar meter stuttered to a stop in the face of so much masculinity. He might have swooned had the giant not taken his elbow and guided him out the door, down the steps, and into a wonderland of fresh slushy snow.
Name, name, what’s his name?
The man’s mouth twitched. “Cole. Cole O’Neil.” He held out his hand.

The Eagle & The Box - Teaser 2
Josh Foxglove and Marcus Colton are acquaintances, with an attraction two years in the making. When Josh finds himself backed into a financial corner, he comes to Marcus asking for a favor…
Before Josiah could shut the door, Marcus grabbed the handle and held it open. He winced as the desperation leaked through his pores, making his voice warble and waver as he asked, “Would you like something to drink, maybe? Unless you have to be somewhere…”
“No. I’m good. I mean…” Josiah inched toward the door. “A drink would be good.”
“Okay.” Marcus held the door ajar and stepped aside as Josiah sidled through the opening. After leading the man to his makeshift office, Marcus pointed to the folding wooden chair and wondered if it was sturdy enough to hold the man’s weight. The bottle and tumbler were still on the desk where he’d left them. He reached into the bottom drawer, extracted another glass and poured two fingers into each.
Josiah accepted the whiskey and tilted his chin in salute before tossing it down. Both of them shuddered and grinned. Marcus asked, “Another, Josiah?”
The man extended his glass for a refill. “You can call me Josh. I like that better. Sounds less… biblical.”
Relishing the burn in his throat, Marcus murmured, “That’s good. So, Josh, what did you want to talk about?”
“I need a favor.” He shifted on the chair. It creaked. “Thing is, I don’t got the right…” Josh grimaced, his face a war of emotions Marcus could barely fathom. Finally he said, “It ain’t like we got history or we’re friends or nothing like that. We hardly know each other.”
Marcus listened to his own heartbeat, wondering what was driving a man like Foxglove to come and ask for a favor and to be so obviously torn up about it. So he said, “Friends give favors. That’s what friends do.”
“But, we ain’t friends.”
Marcus held up the half empty bottle. “Then I guess we’re gonna need more of this.”

Book Blitz Timber Lake by Nya Rawlyns

BOOK INFORMATION

TITLE – Timber Lake SERIES – The Snowy Range Series AUTHOR – Nya Rawlyns GENRE – Gay fiction, suspense/thriller, romance PUBLICATION DATE – August 25, 2015 LENGTH (Pages/# Words) – 202/67041 PUBLISHER – Jade Horse Publishing COVER ARTIST – Dreams2Media

BOOK SYNOPSIS

Michael Brooks is a loner, and with good reason. A short fuse and a tendency to shoot from the hip, sometimes quite literally, mean he’s all the company he’s got most of the time, and he likes it that way just fine. It suits his job as Warden for Wyoming’s Fish and Game Department.
Being alone sounds good to the researcher for the USDA Forest Service, Dr. Seamus Rydell, especially since it means time away from the pressures to follow his family’s political traditions. He’ll need a guide to Timber Lake to set up his testing equipment, and who better than a Warden whose boss needs him out of sight for a while?
They’re just doing their jobs, until both men get derailed by a lust threatening to light up the night sky and by egos big enough to fill the wilderness.
When a psychopathic poacher intrudes, Michael’s past rises up and the present twists out of shape around a sick mind. As the future for both men fills with darkness, it is all too clear no one will come back from Timber Lake unscathed.

EXCERPT

A chance to do ground-breaking research brings Dr. Seamus “Sonny” Rydell back to Laramie and the kind of life he’s always dreamed about. His first night back, Sonny’s at the rodeo looking for a decent spot to view the proceedings. He finds more than he bargained for…
Circling the perimeter, his eyes and attention skyward toward the huge floods illuminating the arena, he never saw the man coming until he connected with a mountain of solid muscle. At six-two Sonny was no light weight, but the shorter cowboy damn near bowled him over. Hands the size of dinner plates steadied him while gunmetal blue eyes raked him over with a fearsome scowl.
Sonny yelped, “Oh hey, man, I’m so sorry. Wasn’t looking where I was going.” He pointed toward the crowded top railing and shrugged. “Looks like I’m SOL.”
The man chewed his bottom lip, his face hidden in the shadows cast by his hat. He twisted his head and yelled, “Yo, Dolly. Come over here.”
A teen girl, built solid in an athletic way, came rushing out of the crowd, dragging a tall, skinny kid who looked like he’d blow away in a strong breeze. She smiled at the brick wall still clutching his hips in a hero worship way, exposing a chipped tooth.
“Take this fella…” He tilted his head up enough Sonny nearly swallowed his tongue when he got a good look at a wet dream of ruggedly handsome. “What’s your name?”
“Sonny.”
“Sonny. Okay. Dolly here will take you to the contestant’s area. Stay out of the way and you won’t get tromped on.”
Sonny muttered, “This ain’t my first rodeo.”
Ruggedly handsome smirked. The scowl was less intimidating. He could do the scowl, oh yes, he could. That wasn’t the only thing he could do…
